A Quantum Bit Commitment Protocol Based on EPR States
نویسنده
چکیده
A protocol for quantum bit commitment is proposed. The protocol is feasible with present technology and is secure against cheaters with unlimited computing power as long as the sender does not have the technology to store an EPR particle for an arbitrarily long period of time. The protocol is very efficient, requiring only tens of particles. email:[email protected] Atago, Tama-shi, Tokyo 206 Japan; permanent address: Microelectronics Research Laboratories, NEC Corporation, Sagamihara, Kanagawa 229 Japan Correspondence should only be sent to permanent address.

Why quantum bit commitment and ideal quantum coin tossing are impossible
There had been well known claims of unconditionally secure quantum protocols for bit commitment. However, we, and independently Mayers, showed that all proposed quantum bit commitment schemes are, in principle, insecure because the sender, Alice, can almost always cheat successfully by using an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) type of attack and delaying her measurements. One might wonder if secur...

متن کاملQuantum bit commitment in a noisy channel
Under rather general assumptions about the properties of a noisy quantum channel, a first quantum protocol is proposed which allows to implement the secret bit commitment with the probability arbitrarily close to unity. The idea that quantum physics can provide more secure communication between two distant parties than the classical one was first put forward by Wiesner [1]. Later, after the wor...
متن کاملQuantum Bit Commitment Using Entangled States
Based on the fact that the entanglement can not be created locally, we proposed a quantum bit commitment protocol, in which entangled states and quantum algorithms is used. The bit is not encoded with the form of the quantum states, and delaying the measurement is required. Therefore the protocol will not be denied by the Mayers-Lo-Chau no-go theorem, and unconditional security is achieved. Typ...
متن کاملWhy There Is No Impossibility Theorem on Secure Quantum Bit Commitment
There is a nearly universal acceptance of the general impossibility1−4 of secure quantum bit commitment (QBC), taken to be a consequence of the EinsteinPodolsky-Rosen (EPR) type entanglement cheating which rules out QBC and other quantum protocols that have been proposed for various cryptographic objectives. Since there is no characterization of all possible QBC protocols, logically there can b...
